Billy Jack Weatherford, 72 year old Stroud resident, died Saturday, March 31, 2007, at his home. Funeral Services will be held at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, March 3, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Jim Bierd officiating. Burial will be in the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma. Mr. Weatherford was born in Stroud on February 8, 1935, and had resided in Stroud all his life. He is the son of Billy C. Weatherford and Julia Ruby Gray Sontag. Mr. Weatherford served in the United States Army after graduating from Stroud High School in 1953, and worked at the Phillips 66 Turner Turnpike Stations for 27 years, and thereafter worked for Lincoln County under Jack Poskey, former County Commissioner, and also served as labor foreman for the Pentzien, Inc., of Omaha, Nebraska, on pipeline river crossings; and was a retired Stroud Volunteer Fireman. He was an avid rodeo fan, and participant in calf roping, heading, and healing events in prior years. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edgar and Ethel Weatherford, of Stroud, and his maternal grandparents, Doc Maurice and Beulah Gray, of Stroud; and his uncle and aunt, Leo and Blye White, of Stroud. He is survived by Linda Young of the couples home in Stroud; his mother, Julia Ruby Sontag, of Stroud; a daughter, Randa Lea Weatherford Hohweiler and her husband Gary, of North Richland Hills, TX; a grandson, Josh Hohweiler, of Denton, TX; and a granddaughter, Jill Hohweiler, of North Richland Hills, TX; and his uncle and aunt, Carl and Joanne Weatherford, of Tulsa, OK; a cousin, George White and family, of Oklahoma City, OK; a cousin, Doug White and family, of Sugar Land, TX; and a cousin Mike Weatherford and family, of Boulder City, Nevada; a cousin, Darryl Gray and family of Stroud, OK; Larry Gray and family of Beaverton, Oregon; and in-laws, Ed and Pearl Young, of Stroud, OK; Frances Young Nutter, of Drumright, OK and a nephew, Jason Teague Nutter, of East Central University, Ada, OK.
