Billy Earl Carpenter Sr.

Billy Earl Carpenter, Sr. was born on January 19, 1950, in Prague, and departed this life on Monday, April 17, 2017, in Stroud, Oklahoma, at the age of 67. Billy, the son of Joe Earl Carpenter, was a resident of Prague. He enjoyed tinkering, fishing and riding his motorcycle. Billy was drafted in high school and proudly served two tours in Vietnam with the United States Army. There was never a day when he didn’t have a tool in his hand. He had such a passion for building and “improving” vehicles and his all-time favorite mud boggers. Billy’s father, Joe Earl Carpenter, sister, Darlene Carpenter and daughter, Crystal Cooper preceded him in death. Survivors include his mother, Rose (Coleman) Carpenter of Shawnee; son, Billy Carpenter, Jr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Brandi and Bob Geary and Misty and Chad Griffith; brothers, Ronald Carpenter and David Carpenter; sister, Betty Jo Rattan; grandchildren, Emily Cooper, Christian Hicks, Lexi Frey, Hallie Cooper, Harley Frey, Mason Provaznik, Ethan Griffith, Korbyn Griffith and Bostyn Griffith; great grandchildren, Blair Baldridge and many other family and friends. The Carpenter family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 10:00 AM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Starland Davis, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
