Billy Carson Reed, St. Louis, Missouri, resident formerly of Chandler, Oklahoma, was born on August 1, 1932, in Chandler, Oklahoma, and departed this life on July 23, 2008, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 75 years. Billy was the son of George William and Annie Agnes Hall Reed. Billy married Mary Ellen Childress in Chandler, on April 18, 1958. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Billy''s early career was in civil engineering, having worked for the Santa Fe and Frisco Railroads and serving as the Lincoln County Surveyor in 1962-64. In 1967, he chose to enter the ministry, serving churches in Meeker and Chandler, Oklahoma; Estes Park, Colorado; Phoenix, Arizona; Abilene and Emporia, Kansas—retiring in 1991. Billy was a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University and Kansas State University. His parents, brother, J.M. Reed; two sisters, Helen Thomas and Rhoda Cook preceded Billy in death. Survivors include, Wife of 50 years, Mary Ellen Childress Reed of the home, Sons, Carson Early Reed of Atlanta, GA, Robert William Reed of St. Louis, MO, Daughter, Leslie Ann Reed of Loveland, CO, 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, Other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 28, 2008, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel, Chandler, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler. Services are under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
