Billie Jo Behrnes

Billie Jo Behrnes was born on February 19, 1932, in Arlington, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Sunday, July 6, 2008, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 76. Billie, the daughter of Roscoe Sage and Josie Jackson Russell, was a life-long resident of Lincoln County. She married James Clayton Tunnell on May 7, 1954, in Meeker. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1976. Billie married Harold 'Johnny' Behrnes on February 17, 1978 in Prague. He also preceded Billie in death on April 10, 1983. Billie was a 25-year employee of the Prague IGA where she was a receiving clerk. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Billie was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. Survivors include step-son, Steve Behrnes and his wife Kim of Prague; step-daughter, Allyson Smith and her husband Steve of Eufaula; brother-in-law, Harold Crawford of Prague; sisters-in-law, Alva Marie Judd of Jones, Marguerite Russell of Shawnee; good friend, Bobby Shelton of Paden; 5 step-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, 2008 at 10:00 AM, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Prague with Father Shane Tharp officiating. Interment will follow at White Dove Cemetery in Sparks. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
