Bill Morton Pennel was born December 19, 1933 in Cassville, Missouri to Loren and Frances (Catron) Pennel. Bill departed this life on March 8, 2019 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 85. Bill was a long time resident of Prague and was known for his skills as a carpenter, his hard work ethic and his willingness to go out of his way to help others. You could always find Bill supporting his children and grandchildren, teaching his trade to any willing student, catching a hockey game or just cruising around Prague looking for someone to visit with. Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by many. Bill graduated from Southeast High School in Oklahoma City, with the graduating class of 1952. While at Southeast, Bill met the love of his life, Viva. The two were married on April 6, 1954 in Moore, Oklahoma and have remained married ever since. They were blessed with many years together. After their wedding, they made their home in Oklahoma City, until they moved with their children, to Missouri. While in Missouri, Bill and Viva owned a dairy farm. After a few years in Missouri, the family decided it was time to look for their next chapter in life. Bill and his family relocated to their long time home, Prague. Bill built a great reputation as a skilled carpenter and many families were blessed with his skilled work. Carpentry was a passion that he passed on to many, including his children and grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Pennel; brother, Elburn Prier and sister, Virginia Gullett. Bill is survived by his wife, Viva Pennel of the home; son, Mark Pennel and his wife Becky; daughter, Lori Blackwell and her husband Tommy; brother, Connie Prier; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
