Billy Joe ?Bill? Sparkman, Harrah, OK, age 78, was born on July 25, 1925, in Wewoka, OK. He was the son of Thomas Lee & Betty Pearl Brooksher Sparkman. He went to be with his Lord, on April 5, 2004, in Harrah, OK. Bill graduated from Shawnee High School and Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, OK. He was stationed in Hawaii for 38 months while serving in the United States Navy. Bill married Dorothy Erbin on June 9, 1950, and they moved to Harrah in 1957. Dorothy preceded him in death after 53 years of marriage. Bill worked in the glass business most of his life. He started his own glass business, Central Glass Company in Shawnee, operating it until closing in October, 2003. He donated his glass shop to the Pottawatomie County Historical Society in Shawnee. Bill was a member of the McLoud Masonic Lodge, a Shriner, and an active member of the Harrah United Methodist Church. Bill was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother and two sisters. Survivors include 4 sisters & 1 brother-in-law,Lee Conley, Seminole, OK, Eileen & Joe Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK, Thelma White, Seattle, WA, Grace Alcorn, Athens, TX. Many nieces, nephews, great niece and nephews, two God-daughters, other relatives, friends, and faithful companion Annie, the Dachshund. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Harrah United Methodist Church. Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 8, 2004, at the Harrah United Methodist Church with Rev. Henry Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
