Bill C. Knox, Sr.

Bill C. Knox, Sr. age 83, of Harrah, OK, was born on August 4, 1932, in Geary, OK. He was the son of Dudley & Frances Knox. He passed from this life on Thursday, December 3, 2015, in Harrah, OK. Bill attended school in McLoud, OK, where he graduated in 1950. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked at Tinker AFB as a computer systems design analyst, retiring after 32 years. Bill served on the Harrah Planning Commission. He was elected Harrah Town Treasurer (1977-1980) and was appointed Harrah Town/City Clerk (1991-1998) making him the last elected town clerk and the first appointed city clerk under the new Harrah Charter. He also served as the City of Harrah Special Projects Officer from 1998-2006 and served over 40 years on the Harrah Memory Lane Cemetery Board of Directors. Bill was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Harrah. He accepted Jesus as his Lord & Savior and was baptized in 1975. Bill supported the Harrah Schools and was an avid fan of all the Harrah sporting events. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dolores; daughter, DeAnn Bower (Mike); son, Curt Knox (Cherri); 1 brother, Larry Knox (Julie); 6 grandchildren, Kendra Wood, Kourtney Hartsock (Jake), Michael Bower (Amanda), Linsey Price (Dustin), Lacey Fairbrother (Caleb), and Zac Knox; 13 great-grandchildren, Jake & Luke Wood, Kooper, Braxton, Sutton, Preslee & Harper Hartsock, Dallee, Avery, Ty & Levi Price, Reagan & Coy Bower and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at the First Baptist Church, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Gary Eubanks and Dr. Doug Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
