Beulah ?Bill? Vinson Thomas, 97, peacefully left this life on Friday, March 18, 2005, in Clemson, South Carolina, with family at her side. She was born February 24, 1908, in the newly-formed State of Oklahoma, formerly Indian Territory, to Nathan and Leona Harvey Vinson. On May 30, 1926, in Drumright, Oklahoma, Beulah married her high school sweetheart, Everett ?Eph? Thomas. During their almost 65 years of marriage, Eph and Beulah lived in Drumright, Muskogee, and Okmulgee, OK; Little Rock, AR; Snyder, TX; and Belton, TX. Eph died in March of 1990 in Belton, TX, where they had lived for several decades. Also preceding her in death were her precious grandson, Michael Don Maples; her parents; six brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews. Survivors include four children ? Patricia Thomas of San Antonio, Texas; Everett Thomas and wife Jean, of Seneca, South Carolina; Edward Thomas of Gunnison, Colorado; and Marilyn Maples of Brazoria, Texas. She leaves ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving her are much-loved nieces and nephews who adored their ?Aunt Bill,? and countless loving friends. Beulah was a woman of strong religious beliefs and faith. She was cherished by family and friends. She had a loving heart, a great zest for life, a ready, beautiful smile, a positive attitude, and a remarkable mind and memory ? almost to the end. She was a wonderful story teller ? sharing stories of her life, times, and family history. The lives of all who knew her were greatly enriched. A service celebrating the life of our loved one will be held on Saturday, March 26 at 2 PM, at Deer Creek Baptist Church ? half way between Stroud and Prague, Oklahoma. Family and friends will gather in the Family Room at Park Brothers Funeral Home in Prague beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday, March 26, to share our memories of Beulah and to renew family ties and friendships. Lunch will be served at 12:00. We invite everyone to join us to honor our loved one. Beulah will be buried beside her husband at the Prague Cemetery where many generations of his family are interred.
