Betty Lou Higgins

Betty Lou Higgins was born in Stroud, Oklahoma on October 24, 1926 and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Monday, January 24, 2011 at the age of 84 years. Betty was the daughter of Alvin and Lois (Brown) Bowers. Betty was a resident of Stroud all of her life and she was also known as the Stroud Historian. She knew the history of Stroud and when people needed to know something, they would call Betty. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stroud, Oklahoma and a homemaker. She married H. Higgins in Stroud, Oklahoma on December 31, 1945. He preceded her in death November 11, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Survivors Include, Two Sons & Daughter in Laws, Gary & Sherry Higgins of Shawnee, OK, Rick & Sherry Higgins of Frisco, CO, Three Grandchildren, Garin, Ryan and Michelle, Six Great Grandchildren, Other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Stroud, Oklahoma on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Burl Mackey officiating. Burial will be in the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
