Betty Lou Friend

Betty Lou (Bishop) Friend was born on June 3, 1932, in Payson, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, September 27, 2010, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 78. Betty, the daughter of George L. and Minnie Ola (Gentry) Bishop, was a life-long resident of the Prague area. She was a graduate of Meeker High School. Betty married Vallis Dale Friend on December 19, 1959 in Seminole. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2001. She retired from Morgan Well Service where she was the office manager. Betty was a member of the First Christian Church in Prague. Her parents; one brother, Jack Bishop; and one sister, Billie Bowen, also preceded Betty in death. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Tammy Sturdivan of Edmond; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Randy Bluethman of Edmond, Terri and Randy Terrell of Prague; brother and sisters-in-law, Ray and Delores Bishop of Edmond, Lloyd and Janevieve Bishop of Prague; sisters and brother-in-law, Mildred White of Springfield, MO, Louise and Joe Flowers of Meeker; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM, at the Prague Cemetery in Prague with Pastor Susan Payne officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
