Betty Laneeze Dawkins

Betty Laneeze Dawkins was born on June 21, 1925, in Pottawatomie County, and departed this life on Sunday, October 23, 2011, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 86. Betty, the daughter of Sherman Lee and Oma Viola (Loveland) Ross, was a resident of Prague. She married Howard L. Dawkins on September 24, 1942 in Shawnee. He preceded her in death on June 30, 2007. Betty spent most of her life in retail/wholesale fashion and was a sales representative/owner of Betty's Fashions in Prague and Shawnee. Her parents and one brother also preceded Betty in death. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Dorothy Dawkins of Midwest City, Danny and Frankie Dawkins of Lucasville, OH; daughter, Katrina Dawkins of Conroe, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Wanda Ross of Paden; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Franklin Sedlacek of Prague; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The Dawkins family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, 2011, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery.
