Betty June Bates

Betty June Bates was born on June 26, 1933, in Wewoka, OK, and departed this life on Thursday, July 14, 2005, in Meeker, OK, at the age of 72. Betty, the daughter of Virgil M. Hamner and Cleo V. Adams Carpenter, was a resident of Prague. She married Harvey D. Bates on April 25, 1960, in Concord, CA. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a legal secretary and a sister of the Prague Chapter AF of PEO. Her parents; two brothers, Glen Dale Carpenter and Lee Roy Carpenter; and one sister-in-law, Lucy Carpenter, preceded Betty in death. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Harvey D. Bates of the home; sons, Harvey Dial Bates, Jr., and his wife Cheri of Cameron, TX, and John Wayne Bates and his fiance Lisa McLarty of Tulsa; brother, Jimmy W. Carpenter and his wife Mary of Prague; sister-in-law, Marcella Carpenter of Prague; 6 grandchildren; and 5 Great-grandchildren.
