Betty Elizabeth Hankins passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Betty was born on Thursday, February 18, 1932, in Richland, New Mexico to Dewey and Ethel (Bradford) James. She graduated from Napa High School in Napa, California and later graduated from a 2-year business school also in Napa. She married Joe Edward Hankins on January 14, 1951, in Napa, Ca. Betty and Joe moved to Oklahoma in 1957. She was a member of Stroud First Baptist Church. Betty was a cook at Kendrick Grade School and a teacher’s aide for Stroud Public Schools for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and reading. She also liked to garden and can what she produced and took pleasure in cooking. She baked the best bread in the country. Betty treasured her memories with family, especially trips to Branson and all the holiday get togethers. Betty’s kindness and loving nature will be greatly missed. 

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Joe Hankins; her parents Dewey and Ethel James; 8 siblings; and 5 great-grandchildren. 

Betty is survived by her son Edward Hankins and wife Beth; her daughter Beverly Ash and husband Bill; her son Jeffery Hankins and wife Vicky; daughter Beth Galbraith and husband Kelly; and daughter Michelle Haskin and husband Chris; grandchildren, Diane Wozniak, Joni Hankins, Briana Spirlock, Bridget Hughey, Tammy Cooper, Heather Pearson, Nichole Stromski, Darla Hensley, Braxton Galbraith, Brittani Glossip, and Kayla Walton; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; she is also survived by extended family and friends.
