Bertha Faye Norris

Faye Shamel Norris passed away Sunday, September 3, 2006. Mrs. Norris was born in Carney, Oklahoma on Valentine?s day, 1928, the daughter of Joe and Gertrude Kinder. She was married to Raymond Shamel in 1947 until his death in 1977. She later married Donald L. Norris who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Norris is survived by three children, Ginger Rumsey of Tulsa, Bruce Jackie Shamel of Tulsa, and Kathy Mike Fuhs of Dubuque, Iowa. For several years Mrs. Norris enjoyed her job as a PBX operator, however, her main role was homemaker. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, lawn care riding her John Deere tractor, playing cards and bingo. Mrs. Norris is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She has one brother who preceded her in death, Roy Kinder. Her surviving family include two brothers, Ralph Kinder of Tulsa and Jim Kinder of Carney. A sister, Ruby Gaither, lives in Cushing. The family would like to thank the nursing staff on 2 East Cardiac at Saint Francis Hospital and to her friends for their care and support.
