Bernice Lucille Ashcraft, Meeker, Oklahoma, resident was born August 2, 1927, in Gilliam, Arkansas, and departed this life on September 7, 2015, at Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years. Bernice was the daughter of Gene and Thelma (Tapley) Mick. She married Leon Ashcraft on March 21, 1949, in Turlock, California. Bernice was a homemaker and a member of Country Faith Church of the Nazarene. Her parents, husband, four brothers, James Mick, Wesley Mick, Don Briggs, Dale Briggs, and two sisters, Barbara Burkart and Wanda Cain have preceded Bernice in death. Survivors include, four sons, Roy Lee Ashcraft of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Eddie Ashcraft of Houston, Texas, Wayne Ashcraft of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Tracy Ashcraft of Cache, Oklahoma; three daughters Janet Gaylor of Edmond, Oklahoma, June Harris of Edmond, and Joyce Snow of Van Buren, Arkansas; three brothers, Joe Briggs of Phoenix, Arizona, Jack Briggs of Marietta, Georgia, and Robert Briggs of Roswell, New Mexico; twenty one grandchildren, thirty one great-grandchildren and two great -great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. The Ashcraft family will receive friends on Friday, September 11, 2015, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 12, 2015, at the Country Faith Church of the Nazarene in Meeker, with Rev. Tim Ashcraft and John Hazelton officiating. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
