Benny Brooks Hensley passed away on December 11, 2019 at the age of 76. Benny was born on November 18, 1943 in Prague, Oklahoma. He was the son of Claude L. and Jewel (Whisenhunt) White. Benny grew up in Prague and graduated from Prague High School, where he was a star basketball player. His basketball and educational career took him to the University of Oklahoma for one year, and he received his Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern State University. Following college, Benny taught and coached basketball and football for Oklahoma City Public Schools. He later found that he loved the oil field, and spent the rest of his working life in many positions within the oil and gas industry. Benny was an outdoorsman and also loved to travel. He was constantly visiting family and friends in other parts of the country. His favorite area to visit was anywhere in the plains region. Benny had two daughters, that he loved very much. Benny was very much a people person, and he loved visiting with friends and family throughout his life. He will be greatly missed by many. Benny was preceded in death by parents and one daughter, Brook Nicole Hensley. Benny is survived by his daughter, Julie Hensley and her husband Michael McKiddy; one grandson, Deacon McKiddy; sisters, Shirley Holland and Louena Bryan; one brother, Jimmy Hensley and his wife Sue and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews and many friends.
