Benjamin Franklin Frizzell Jr (Benny), was born to the late Benjamin Franklin Frizzell and Annie Mabel Frizzell, October 2, 1936, in their home near Zoe, Oklahoma. He grew up in the area, enjoying life in the mountainous community and working on their family land, beside his father and two younger brothers Travis and Don. When he was in high school, they welcomed their baby sister Sylvia into the family, and later, his youngest brother William. After graduation from Heavener High School, Benny enrolled in Eastern Oklahoma College in Wilburton, Oklahoma where he graduated with an associate degree in animal husbandry.
In the fall of 1955, he met Iwanna Ruth Dobbs at a football game, and they married the following June 3, 1956. They established their home in Stapp, Oklahoma and welcomed their first son, Frank, into the family on April 9, 1957, followed by James, Dennis, and Rodney within the next five years. Benny worked hard to provide for his family, working in a lumber yard for a time before he began working in the oil field industry. This work required them to move frequently, but they always found a church to be a part of and Benny made it a priority to take his family to church every Sunday.
After living in various towns in Oklahoma, and 3 ½ years in Craig, Colorado, Benny and Iwanna and their boys moved to the Shawnee area in 1976, where he lived until April of this year, when his health required him to become a resident of Oak Hills Care Center in Jones. Benny passed from this life on September 1, 2023.
In addition to his parents, Ben and Mable Frizzell, Benny was preceded in death by Iwanna Ruth Frizzell, his wife of 67 years, on June 6, of this year, his son Frank Frizzell in January 2022 and his three brothers, Don Frizzell, Travis Frizzell and William Frizzell.
Benny is survived by his 3 sons, Jim Frizzell of Shawnee, Dennis Frizzell of Chandler and Rod and his wife Penny Frizzell of Lindsay Oklahoma, his sister Sylvia Ritzky of Norman, sister-in-law, Marge Frizzell of Zoe, seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and an abundance of extended family.
