Beatrice "Jerry" Geraldine Gatlin

Beatrice 'Jerry' Brakebill Gatlin, age 85, of Newalla, OK, was born April 6, 1928, in Konawa, OK. She was the daughter of William Roy & Foya B. (Johnson) Brakebill. She left this life on Thursday, May 23, 2013, in Shawnee, OK. Jerry loved to fish and work outside. She was a mechanic and could fix anything. Her favorite outfit was overalls and a ball cap. Jerry was the family doctor and was crazy about her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, L.D. Gatlin, daughter, Debbie Higdon, brother, James T. Brakebill, sister, Betty L. Hines, 2 grandchildren, Larry Joe Findley & Emma Grace McGuinness. Survivors include her son, Larry Gatlin, Edmond, OK; 3 daughters & sons-in-law, Vickie & Joe Findley, Harrah, OK, Linda & Joe Nolen, McLoud, OK, Gina Gatlin, Newalla, OK; brother, Roy Brakebill, Oklahoma City, OK; longtime friend, Betty Kimberling, Oklahoma City, OK; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Golden Rule Nursing Center in Shawnee, especially Christy. Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Dale Cemetery, Dale, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
