Beatrice Ione Goodman of DeSoto was born December 3, 1914, in Milford, TX, to Florence Ward and William H. Goodman, and passed away May 25, 2004, at Charlton Methodist Hospital after a brief illness. Beatrice, a graduate of Milford High School, retired from Gaston Episcopal Hospital after a long career in nursing. She was known by all for her loving and caring spirit. Bea, a life-long Methodist, was a current member of First United Methodist Church of DeSoto and previously a long-time member of Brandon Avenue Methodist Church in Oak Cliff. Her parents and her husband, James L. Taylor, Sr., preceded Bea in death. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, James and Becky Taylor; son, Ross Taylor; grandson, Mark Taylor and wife, Shelly; granddaughter, Angel Taylor; grandson, Tim Taylor and wife, April. Survivors also include great-grandsons, Willie, Chase, and Sam Taylor; sister, Addis Ruekle; and brother and sister-in-law, James and Rose Nell Goodman. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Vincent Barr and staff, and Dr. Rita Phillips and the 3rd floor nursing staff at Charlton Methodist Hospital for their care and support. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 28, 2004, at the Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis, TX, with Dr. Bart Smith officiating.
