Barbara Jean Cook

Barbara Jean Cook, 78, passed away peacefully at home in Newalla, OK to be with her Lord and Savior November 19, 2012, with her loving family in attendance. Barbara was born in Newalla on December 13, 1933 to parents Jimmie and Christine McClure.She retired from AT&T, after 31 years of faithful service. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles, but, put her family above any interests of her own. Barbara was a wonderful cook and homemaker, her family dinners were a regular occurrence and no one missed them. She will be remembered for her smile, which never wavered, even during the hardest of times. She is survived by her husband, Gerald, of 60 years, son, David Cook and wife Teresa of Shawnee, daughter, Debbie and husband Ray Davis of Yukon and one grandson, Raymond Hill of Newalla. Also her sister, Carolyn and husband Doyle Childers of McLoud, brother, Jimmie McClure of Newalla, her aunt, Ina Whitlow-Gage and uncle, Troy Whitlow, both of Miramonte, CA, 5 nieces, 7 nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Healing Touch Home Health and Angelic Hospice for their loving care of Barbara during her long illness. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 24, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Newalla, where they were members. Her long time friend, Rev. Bill Derrick will be officiating. Interment will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
