B. La Verne Cheves, age 85, of Oklahoma City, OK, was born on December 28, 1919, in Clinton, OK. She was the daughter of Herman F. & Roberta Persons Radant. She left this life on December 25, 2005, in Harrah, OK. La Verne graduated from Weatherford High School in Weatherford, OK. She was a homemaker and a member of the Portland Avenue Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. She enjoyed making ceramics and jewelry. La Verne loved studying and teaching the Bible. La Verne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe B. Cheves; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include 3 sons & 2 daughters-in-law, Joel R. Cheves, Oklahoma City, OK, Douglas & Angela Cheves, Houston, TX, Mark & Jackie Cheves, Frederick, MD; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 29, 2005, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Oklahoma City, OK with Rev. Gary Eubanks officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
