Arthur Phelan

Arthur Phelan was born on March 31, 1948 near Muldrow, OK and departed this life on Sunday, December 20, 2020 in Stroud, OK at the age of 72 years. He was the son of Henry and Nettie (Crowley) Phelan. On October 3, 1968 he married Lillie Ann (Hobbs) Howard and her 5 children: Kathy, Leonard, Elaine, Patricia, and Jerry. Arthur and Lillie then had another son, Arthur Henry. Arthur proudly served 37 years in the Army and Army National Guard. He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle. He liked to use his hands to make things. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Nettie Phelan, three brothers Ed Phelan, Bill Phelan, Paul Jennings, sister Roberta Pulliam, two sons Leonard Howard, Jerry Howard, and Granddaughter Sarah Howard. Arthur leaves behind his wife of 52 years Lillie Ann Phelan of the home in Stroud, children Kathy Holland and husband Terry of Meeker, Elaine Bowser of Stroud, Patricia Griffin and husband Steve of Prague, Arthur “Bo” Phelan and wife Treva of Stroud, twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, three brothers Leroy Phelan, Jerry Mercer, and Gary Mercer all of Oklahoma City, numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel officiated by Keith Cole. Condolences may be offered online at www.parksbrothers.net.
