Arthur Carl Mcgowen

Arthur Carl McGowen was born on April 10, 1929, in Wasco, California, and departed this life on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. Carl, the son of Arthur Mack and Mae Grace Edwards McGowen, was a resident of Prague. He married Anna Kate Hubbard on October 16, 1949, in Van Buren, Arkansas. Carl served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Carl worked for 39 years at Local #94 as an insulator, was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Meeker, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. His parents and one sister, Beulah Ocell Stapp, preceded Carl in death. Survivors include hs wife of 57 years, Anna McGowen of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Cindy McGowen of Edmond; daughter and son-in-law, Ethel and Mark Grubbs of Wellston; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alvin and Sue McGowen of Oklahoma City, Marvin and Wilma McGowen of Oklahoma City, Freddie and Delores McGowen of Choctaw; brothers-in-law, Andy Hubbard and his wife Margaret of Kinta, Emmett Hubbard and his wife Mae of Turlock, CA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maydell and Clifford Barbee of Choctaw, Freda and Clark Utley of Checotah; grandchildren, Tonya and David Neely of Chandler, Jim Fish of Edmond, Clint McGowen of Edmond, Jossie Grubbs of Wellston, Lexi McGowen of Edmond; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Emmy, and Grace Neely of Chandler. The McGowen family will receive friends at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague on Friday, December 15, from 6:00 ? 8:00 PM.
