Arlie C. Johnson, of Prague, passed away in his home on March 4, 2024 surrounded by family. He was 91.
He was born on January 30, 1933, in Sparks, Oklahoma. He was the son of Roy and Lenora (Wilson) Johnson. Arlie was preceded in death by his father, mother, brothers Harold Johnson and Lloyd Johnson, as well as four sisters Delores Ross, Edna Irick, Loetta Osburn, and Anna Lee Johnson.
Arlie is survived by his beloved wife, Dreatha (Hall) Johnson, whom he married on October 16, 1951. They were married for 72 years.
He is also survived by his children: son Kenneth Johnson and wife LaDona, daughter Deborah Clonts and husband Wayne, and son Monte Johnson and wife Kayla. Arlie was a loving grandfather to his grandchildren Velvet Hand and husband Will, David Johnson and wife Monica, Angela DeLong and husband Mike, Eric Clonts, Amanda Richardson and husband Justin, and Monta Johnson. He was also a bonus grandparent to Stephanie Lee, Jimmy Goodnight, and many others. Arlie adored his great-grandchildren: Kennedy Gregory, Tanner Gregory, Harley Johnson, Hailey Johnson, Addison Richardson, Kanyon DeLong, Cole Richardson, Piper DeLong, and Laekyn, Mekko, & Avry Hand.
In addition, Arlie is survived by his brother Eldon Johnson and wife Cheryl, as well as sisters Reva Baldridge, Rose Cresup, and Karen Loop and husband Barry as well as many members of his extended family.
Arlie was a dedicated member of Prague First Assembly of God Church. He began attending when services were held in only a tent and continued faithfully throughout his life, as well as serving as a deacon for 60 years.
Arlie had a successful career as an auto mechanic, working at various car dealerships and then for Simek Auto Supply for 30 years until his retirement in 1995. His hobbies and interests included fishing, hunting, whittling, playing his fiddle and harmonica, and spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Arlie will be fondly remembered for his jokes, generous spirit, kindness, and his unwavering love for God and his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
