Annette Howell

December 4, 1936 — December 7, 2017

Annette (Nelson) Howell was born on December 4, 1936, in Oklahoma City, and departed this life on Thursday, December 7, 2017, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 81. Annette, the daughter of William Clark and Mattie Mae Nelson, was a long time resident of Meeker. Annette married Charles Fredrick “Charlie” Howell in May 24, 1957. She was cherished by Charlie and he pampered her well; she never even had to pump gas in her own car. During their 60 year marriage they raised four children Rebekah “Becky”, Marilyn, Mark and John. Her beloved husband passed away on October 21, 2017. Annette was a devoted mother and invested much of her time and energy in her children and her family. When her children were young they helped her churn homemade butter. She enjoyed outings with her children to include going out to eat at “Golden Al”. Annette was proud to be a licensed realtor. She was a spitfire with a boisterous personality and was known to be a leader. Her signature color was purple and she appreciated beauty and incorporated her color wherever she could. Annette enjoyed arts and crafts and even took classes with her daughters learning the art of floral design. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed helping in the nursery and teaching Sunday School. Annette will be deeply missed. Annette was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers William “Billy” Clark, Jr. and Donald Ray Nelson and sister, Carolyn Cambron. Survivors include her children, Becky and Neal Norman of Oklahoma City, Marilyn and Roy Murphy of Nicoma Park, Mark and Jeannine Howell of McLoud, John and Eileen Howell of Meeker; grand children, Jeremy Norman of Oklahoma City, Meleah and Carl Witten of Oklahoma City, Stephanie and John Sousa of Oklahoma City, Pam and Jason Laurence of Midwest City, Heather and Steven Vaughn of Washington, OK, Montana Howell of McLoud, Lacy and Jennifer Howell of Prague, and Sarah Howell of Prague; step grandchildren, Paul Murphy of Nicoma Park, Stephanie Murphy of Oklahoma City, Shawna and Kevin Cale of Edmond, Heather and Cody Moery and John and Megan Boggs; great grandchildren, Tanner Callahan, Blayden Sousa, Cameron and McKenzy Laurence, Brylee McLaughlin, Reagan Vaughn, Hudson and Miles Witten, Erick Howell; step great grandchildren, Breana and Dalton Murphy, Ryan, Emily and Bryce Cale, Grady Moery and Mikaela Boggs and many other relatives and friends.
