Anna May Vaughan

Anna May Vaughan, age 85, of Harrah, OK, was born on October 17, 1922, in Hoopers Creek, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Fred and L?Marie Willis Vaughan. Anna May left this life on November 2, 2007, in Midwest City, OK. Anna May was a professor of nursing and loved teaching. She served as a missionary nurse in Africa for 18 years and Hong Kong for 2 years. She was founder and the first dean of the Kettering School of Medical Arts in Dayton Ohio, where they recently named a wing after her. She was a member of the Summit Ridge Seventh Day Adventist Church in Harrah, OK. Anna May enjoyed camping, the outdoors, nature, loved animals and studying and teaching the Bible. Anna May was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Olive N. Blumenshein. Survivors include one brother, Edmond A. Hinke, Port Angeles, WA. Donations may be made to Summit Ridge Village, Harrah, OK. They may be contacted at 405-454-6243. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 10, 2007, at the Summit Ridge Seventh Day Adventist Church, Harrah, OK. Arrangements were made with Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
