Ann Vernice Metheny

Ann Metheny, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born December 31, 1937, in Corinth, Mississippi. She departed this life on December 1, 2023, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years.

Ann was the daughter of James and Verna (Pinkston) Morse. She was raised in Hammond, Indiana, and graduated from Hammond Tech High School in 1955. Ann married Bobby Lee Metheny on April ,7,1956, in Hammond, IN. They moved to Chandler from Lake Village, Indiana, in 1976. Ann was a hard worker and very self-reliant from an early age. She was a real estate agent and transportation broker for many years. Ann was a member of the Forrest Baptist Church. She loved taking care of her family, cooking, playing board games, cards, and dominos. Ann will be greatly missed.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, James and Verna Morse; daughter Kelly Crawford; grandson Matthew Kalka; two brothers, Hank Morse and Frank Morse.

Survivors include her husband Bob of 67 years; one son, Greg Metheny of Shawnee; four daughters, Kim Metheny of Shawnee, Karen Gough and husband Vernon of Chandler, Karla Kalka and husband Mark of Chandler, and Kandy Merry of Shawnee; eight grandchildren, Geoff Metheny, Jimmy Brown, Eric Gough, Erin Allen, Kaylee Burchardt, Justin Merry, Kersten Crawford, and Konrad Crawford; numerous great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
