Alvin Raymond Hightower

Alvin Raymond Hightower was born on March 1, 1929 in Stroud, Oklahoma and departed this life on September 26, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 90. Alvin was the son of Ples and Leota Mae (Bunyard) Hightower. He was a resident of Stroud and member of the Stroud Free Will Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy and Army. Alvin retired as a truck driver from Miller Truck Lines. He loved planes and driving trucks. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. Alvin was married to Stella Mae Hightower on August 10, 1950 in Chandler, Oklahoma. Stella preceded him in death on July 17, 1979. On September 11, 1995 Alvin was married to Alta (Ash) Hightower in Stroud, Oklahoma. Alvin was also preceded in death by his parents, Ples and Leota Hightower, 3 brothers and 4 sisters, and daughter Darlene Hightower on December 25, 2009. Survivors include wife Alta Hightower of Stroud, one son Raymond Hightower of Tulsa, one daughter Debra Kay Harrison of Tulsa, one brother Poker Hightower of Prague, one step-son Bill and wife Beverly Ash of Stroud, one step-daughter JoAnn and husband Rickey Weeks of Stroud, seven grandchildren Allen Hightower, Shonts Harrison, Zachary Hightower, Rena Rueda, Alexander Hightower, Nathan Hightower, and Aren Harrison, along with seven great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other family members. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gillespie officiating. Burial to follow at Stroud Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service Stroud, OK.
