Alva Hazel Wallace

April 16, 1915 — January 23, 2009

Alva Hazel Wallace was called to heaven to walk with the Lord on Friday morning January 23, 2009, in Oklahoma City at 93 years of age. She was born on April 16, 1915, in Buckville, Arkansas to Forester Wheeler and Carrie Belle Shuffield Hatmaker. She married Lester Allen 'Lec' Wallace on July 28, 1933 at the Johnson School near Shawnee. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1991. Alva was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was generous with her time at all church events and could always be found in the kitchen washing dishes. She was also a member of the Centerview Ladies Club. She loved her God, her church, her family, fishing, gardening and traveling. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Her parents, five brothers, and three sisters also preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Janice and Jack Treat of Oklahoma City, Jean and George Opela of Prague; brother, John Hatmaker of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Belinda and Darryl Fisher of Shawnee, Karen and Ernest Clark of Shawnee, Jody Opela of Tecumseh; great-grandchildren, Heather and Chris James of Moore, Brandi and Jason LaPlante of Shawnee, Shayna Legg of Shawnee; and great-great-grandchildren, AbbieGail and Maegan James of Moore.
