Alta Mae Orr Brown

Alta Mae Orr Brown was born on April 8, 1928, in Wilzetta, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Thursday, October 11, 2007, in Stroud, Oklahoma, at the age of 79. Alta, the daughter of John Henry Orr and Sarah Millie Jane Richards Orr, was a resident of Stroud. Alta was married to Cecil Brown for 64 years and together they raised four children. She was a homemaker and attended the Deer Creek Baptist Church. She also worked at the Chandler garment factory. Her parents, two brothers, two sisters, one son, Johnnie, and a beloved sister-in-law, preceded Alta in death. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Cecil Brown of Stroud; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Nancy Brown of Stroud; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Don Ahboah of Oklahoma City, Jane and John Davis of Prague; brother and sister-in-law, Lonnie and Pauline Orr of Paden; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Phillip White of Stroud; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2007, at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Mike Haines and Rev. Joremye Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery in Prague. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
