Alma Lucy Montgomery

Alma Lucy Montgomery, age 66, of Newalla, OK, was born on January 12, 1942, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was the daughter of Cecil & Edith L. Avery Ferguson. Alma left this life on January 6, 2009, in Oklahoma City, OK. Alma married Richard Montgomery on June 24, 1962, in Iowa Park, Texas. They made their home together in the Newalla area since 1966. She worked as an Information Clerk for Rose State College from April, 1982 to September, 2006. Alma was a member of the Harrah Nazarene Church since 1967. She was an expert seamstress, enjoyed working with crafts and working in her flowerbeds. Alma was the boss of everybody. Her family, especially her grandkids and her church family were the most important things in her life. Alma was preceded in death by her father and one brother, LeRoy Ferguson. Survivors include her husband, Richard Montgomery, Newalla, OK; 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Teresa & James Mobley, Midwest City, OK, Lori & David Perry, Midwest City, OK; mother, Edith Durant, Harrah, OK; 4 grandchildren, Brittani Mobley, Cobey Mobley, Taylor Perry, Ryan Perry all of Midwest City, OK and many other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the Integris Baptist Heart Hospital 801-ICU staff and physicians. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 9, 2009, at the Harrah Nazarene Church, with Rev. Hubert Gilbert and Rev. Larry Stone officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
