Alma Jean Springer Artis was born in Earlsboro County, Oklahoma, on November 18, 1926 and went home to be with Jesus in Midwest City OK on June 12, 2020 at the age of 93. Alma was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Springer and Maud States Springer. She attended Garden Grove and Centerview High Schools and graduated from the St. Anthony School of Nursing in February 1948. She retired from nursing at Good Samartian Hospital in San Jose CA in September 1987 after working almost 40 years as a RN. She married Everette W. Artis on January 28, 1951, who preceded her in death in August 2000. She was a member of Country Estates Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; her parents, four sisters and two brothers and three brothers-in-law. She is survived by her nieces, Debbie Trammell (Jim), Midwest City OK; Linda Morphis (Larry), Midwest City OK; Vicki White, Prague OK; Paulette (Tom) Pera, and Susan Artis, Santa Cruz, CA; nephews, Greg Springer, Edmond OK, Paul Springer (Molly), Argyle TX, Carl Springer, Jr., Kent Springer, James Springer, and many great/great great nieces and nephews as well as cousins and many wonderful friends. Special thanks to Care Plus Home Care for the wonderful care given to Aunt Alma the past eight years and a special thank you to her caregivers (Angela, Kimberly, Vanessa, and Zelma,) and a very special thank you to Hospice Quality in Midwest City for the wonderful care she received during her final days.
