Allen Edward Sherman

Allen Edward Sherman was born on June 3, 1922, in Chandler, OK, and departed this life on Friday, August 20, 2010, at his home in Chandler at the age of 88 years. Allen, the son of Aden & Rebecca May (Butler) Sherman, was a live-long Chandler resident. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Allen married Coralie Kirkpatrick on June 30, 1949, in Chandler. He owned and operated Sherman Oil & Gas Company for many years. Allen was a long-time member of the Chandler Southern Baptist Church, Chamber of Commerce, and the American Legion. Survivors include, two sons & daughters-in-law, Larry & Laverna Sherman of Chandler, OK, Bobby & Angie Sherman of Chandler, OK, three daughter & son-in-law, Shirley & Gerald Best of Chandler, OK, Mary Ann Moore of Chandler, OK, Betty Jo Sprague of Chandler, OK, one sister, Barbara Sherman Foster of Potts Borough, TX. ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, August 23, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Chandler with Rev. Bruce Newby officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
