Alice Doretha Naugle

Alice Dorthea Foster Naugle was born on March 30, 1920, in Madill, OK. She was the 6th of 11 children born to Marion Andrew Foster and Annie E Awalt Foster. When she was a baby the family moved to Lincoln County where she spent most of her life. She passed into the arms of her Savior on June 6th, 2017, at the Arizona State Veterans Home in Tucson AZ, at the age of 97. Alice married Herbert T. Stingley in 1942. They were blessed with her first son, James T. Stingley (Smiley). Herbert and Alice moved to Tulsa after he came home from the War. Shortly after their move, Herbert was involved in a tragic car accident that took his life. She met and married Elden Naugle in Tulsa. They were blessed with her second son, Eldon Leroy Naugle. In 1957 when that marriage ended, Alice came home to Chandler with her two sons. Her home quickly became the gathering point for many fun-filled family gatherings. She worked very hard, sometimes two jobs at one time, cared for her two boys and helped care for her ailing Mother. She was the love of many a family member. As her health began to fail, she moved to Tucson to be near her eldest son, Smiley. As Alzheimer’s began to take her beautiful mind, she moved to the Memory Care Unit at the Arizona State Veterans Home. She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and all of her ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Becky Stingley of Tucson, Arizona, and Lee and Barbara Naugle of Chandler, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Annette and Barbara of Littleton, Colorado, Kristen Naugle of Jacksonville, Florida, and Kyle Naugle of Satellite Beach, Florida, plus several great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at the Chandler United Methodist Church on August 10th at 10:00 AM.
