Alexander Jakubowski, age 85, of Harrah, OK, was born on September 16, 1922, in Passaic, New Jersey. He was the son of Anthony & Pauline Yakubosky. He departed this life on Friday, August 8, 2008, in Harrah, OK. Al attended Lodi High School in Lodi, New Jersey through the 9th grade and he received vocal training at Carnegie Hall. Al served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II. He received the American Theatre Ribbon, Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He married MaryAnna Ozmun on September 15, 1943 in Norman, OK. He retired from Tinker AFB. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 15037 and a regular at the Harrah Senior Citizens Center. Al was a ham radio operator and held the highest rating and was an examiner. His call letters were K5YPK. Al was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, MaryAnna, second wife, Virginia Taylor-Drew and one brother, John Yakubosky. Survivors include 2 sons & 1 daughter-in-law, Alex Jakubowski, Okla. City, OK, Don & Ellen Jakubowski, Edmond, OK; brother, Bill Yakubosky, Virginia; sister, Helen Riley, New Jersey; sister-in-law, Millie Runyon, Harrah, OK; 3 grandchildren, Laura Cook, Michelle Rude, Jared Jakubowski; 3 great- grandchildren, Teth Cook, Kaylynn Cook, Miranda Rude and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at the Harrah First Assembly of God Church, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Tony Alvarez officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah, OK.
