Albert Vernon Jordan

Albert Vernon Jordan of Harrah, Oklahoma, was born September 22, 1922, at Glover, Missouri, to Samuel A. & Josephine Colyott Jordan. He died November 11, 2007 at age 85, at the VA Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Albert was inducted into the U.S. Army, December 21, 1943, and served as a medical technician and ambulance driver until discharged in March, 1946. During this time of danger and uncertainty Psalms 91, which speaks of God?s protection in times of war, was of much encouragement to him. He was married to Grace Arlene Washburn on March 28, 1948 in Chanute, Kansas. He was a farmer, owned and operated a sawmill in Missouri and later owned and operated a produce market in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was a life-long member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, he was a church elder and leader for many years. Albert enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Haskell Jordan. He is survived by his wife, Grace Jordan of Harrah, OK; two sons, Randy Jordan of Fayetteville, AR, Roger Jordan of Bella Vista, AR; foster daughter, Martha Curtis of Ocala, FL; sister, Joy Miner of Portland, OR; 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at a formal visitation on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, 2039 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, OK. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at the Summit Ridge Seventh-day Adventist Church, Harrah, OK. Interment will follow at Summit Ridge Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
