Albert Alvin Shetley

Albert Alvin Shetley, Harrah, OK, age 90, was born on September 9, 1924, in Porum, OK. He was the son of Fred H. & Laura E. (Smith) Shetley. He left this life on Thursday, March 12, 2015, in Harrah, OK. Albert married Corrine Sossamon on July 14, 1945, and were married 67 years after meeting and knowing each other only two weeks. He started working in the coal mines at age 14 and he was a sheet metal fabricator at Aero Commander. After his retirement, Albert and Corrine owned A & C Grocery & Station, below the dam on Lake Eufaula, for 30 years. Albert loved fishing, camping and playing music. He played the banjo, guitar and mandolin by ear. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, both sons, Charles Alvin Shetley, Bryan G. Shetley, 1 grandson, Gary Shetley, 3 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by 2 daughters-in-law, Marsha Shetley, Harrah, OK, LahVonna Shetley, Midwest City, OK; brother, Gene Shetley, Norman, OK; 6 grandchildren, Amy Heskett, Crescent, OK, Chris Shetley, Tuttle, OK, Cory Shetley, Guthrie, OK, Tammy Willoughby, Midwest City, OK, Courtney Koster, Midwest City, OK, Ryan Shetley, Moore, OK, many great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, March 16, 2015, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK. Interment will be at 3:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Norman, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
