Aileen Dorothy Earp Henderson was born to John and Jesse Earp on June 15, 1932 on the family farm south of Chandler, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of three daughters, preceded by Wanda Earp Parks and Donna Earp Moore. As a child, she attended Midlothian Elementary School until 8th grade before being promoted to Chandler High School from which she graduated in 1949 at age 16. She attended Oklahoma A&M for three years before graduating early in 1952 at the age of 19. Teachers were required to be 21 years old, so she worked in Oklahoma City for two years as a secretary until reaching the required age. She began teaching as a third grade teacher in Chandler and married her late husband Lee Henderson who was a teacher in Sparks at the time. Together they taught in both Wellston and Luther before returning to Chandler. She became Chandler’s first kindergarten teacher while they built their own home on the Earp family farm in 1966. Both retired from teaching in 1988 to run their angus cattle ranch which still operates today. Aileen ran the cattle ranch up until her death. She is survived by her two children, Dr. Mark Henderson (Danica) and Lee Ann Weingarten (Andy), four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her sister, Donna Moore, many nieces and nephews, and even more friends. Services were held on Monday, March 23, at Oak Park Cemetery. Registry for Aileen Henderson
