Adabell Lee was born on October 7, 1923, in Stroud, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, in Okemah, Oklahoma, at the age of 90. Adabell, the daughter of Clarence Elmo and Edna Gertrude (Gardner) Eastep, was a resident of Paden. She married Gene T. Lee on April 14, 1945, in Paden. They were married for over 68 years. She was the love of Gene’s life. Her top priority was taking care of her husband, her children and her grandchildren. All she wanted in life was for her children to get along. Adabell never met a stranger. She always saw the good in everyone. She loved to talk to people and would play dominoes with anyone that would play with her. She loved OU sports and Paden basketball and baseball. She tried to make it to every game. She also loved sewing, gardening and garage sales. Adabell dearly loved her two sisters, Marie Byerly and Edna Case, both of Paden. Her parents, four brothers, Raymond Eastep, Buck Eastep, Wade Eastep and Ernest Taylor, sister, Ollie Cates, son, Sandy Lee, two infant children, Mary Lee and James Lee, and grandchildren, A.J. Lee, Monica Salisbury and Jay Derek Lee preceded Adabell in death. Survivors include: her husband of 68 years, Gene T. Lee of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Sandy Self of Shawnee, Jackie and Sharon Lee of Levelland, TX, Tunney and Jacquetta Lee of Okemah, Sherdel and Terri Lee of Paden and Anthony Doyle Lee of Paden; daughters and sons-in-law, Ada and Larry Johnson of Paden, Kathy Smock of Paden, Clonda and Jim Rogers of Paden, Vickey Lee, and her companion, Buddy Sala, of Paden, Mickey and Monty White of Paden and Shay and Scott Lackey of Shawnee; adoptive daughter and her husband, Diane and Terry White of Paden; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Curtis Byerly of Paden and Edna and Max Case of Paden; brothers-in-law and their wives, Bill and Josey Lee of Okemah, Jimmy and Juanita Lee of Prague, Johnny Paul and Geneva Lee of Paden and Dean and Cheryl Lee of Paden; sisters-in-law, Linda Allen of Paden, Martha Hause of Seminole and Charlie Mae Hutchins and her husband, Claude, of Oklahoma City; 24 grandchildren, Chad, Stacey, Shane, Landon, Lindsay, Brandon, Angie, Toney, Meggan, Travis, Erica, Myriah, Anthony, Starsky, Ashley, Scottie, Jaxson, Kyla, Chelsey, Kylie, Spencer, Tyler, Felicia and Tara; 45 great grandchildren; other numerous family and friends. The Lee family will receive friends on Friday, March 28, 2014, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 10:00 AM at Freewill Baptist Church in Paden with Bro. Jim Eastep and Bro. Steve Green officiating. Diane White will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow at Paden Cemetery.
