Ada Mae Teters was born on March 11, 1917 in Milfay, Oklahoma and departed this life on January 13, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 102. Ada was born to William B. and Grace (Brokenhoff) Brown. Ada was married to Arlie Teters on May 3, 1933 at the Lincoln County Courthouse in Chandler, OK. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, embroidering, gardening, but dominated at the game of Moon. She was known as the best noodle maker around. Ada was member of the Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed being a part of the Fried Pie Fundraiser and she was the best at it. Pastor Wilburn always referred to her as “The Boss”. She loved the Lord, and people. But mostly, she loved her family and all those she came to know as “dandies”. Ada was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arlie Teters, daughter Velma Green, siblings Virgil Brown, Mary Coleman and Bessie Skaggs. Survivors include two daughters Vera & husband Jim Bierd of Stroud, OK, Kathy and husband Dwight Riley of Bristow, OK, one son Carl and wife Jan Teters of Prague, OK. Nine grandchildren; Gary Quinn and wife Julia, Philip Quinn and wife Lisa, Curtis Green and wife Susie, Douglas Green and wife Sheila, Matthew Teters and wife Meghan, Shawn Riley and wife Lauren, Jimmy Bierd and wife Jami, Jennifer Teters, Tami Harris and husband Richard. Seventeen great grandchildren, a host of great great grandchildren, a special friend Rhonda Dervin, many nieces, nephews and other family members along with all those “Dandies”. Ada was greatly loved and will missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Stroud First Assembly of God Building Fund per the family’s request. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Stroud First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Jeromye Jackson and Pastor Jason Mooy officiating with burial to follow at Stroud Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, OK.
