A.A. "Jim" Smith

A.A. 'Jim' Smith was born on September 2, 1924, in Paoli, OK, and departed this life on Thursday, January 26, 2012, in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 87. Jim, the son of Robert and Luetta (Barton) Smith, was a resident of Chandler. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Jim married Geraldine Pruitt on December 24, 1947 in Pauls Valley, OK. He worked in the Oilfields for many years. Jim was a member of the Chandler First Baptist Church. His parents, one sister, four brothers, and one son-in-law preceded Jim in death. Survivors include, wife of 64 years, Geraldine of the home, two daughters and son-in-law, Audine and Phil Tislow of Chandler, OK, Janet Cook of Chandler, OK, one brother, Bill Smith of Oregon, five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 10:00 A.M., at the First Baptist Church in Chandler, OK with Rev, Rick Blackwell officiating. Interment will follow at New Zion in Chandler. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
