William "Bill" Martin Gahagan

William “Bill” Martin Gahagan, of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away on September 24, 2019. He was born on December 5, 1962 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to Maurice Eugene and Joan Francis (Krauss) Gahagan. He graduated from Tuscola High School in Waynesville, North Carolina. Bill proudly served his country for 7 years in the United States Navy aboard the USS John Young. He was an engineer whose career took him from California to Texas, Michigan, Florida, and numerous points in between. He was currently employed with NASA at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. Bill’s children, Reagan, Ryan, and Reilly, were the most important part of his life. He loved spending time with them, showing them the world, and being silly together. Bill was also an avid sports fan - baseball in particular. Bill’s step-mother, Nansee Gahagan preceded him in death. Bill is survived by his wife, Shannon Greene Gahagan, son, Ryan McKay Gahagan, daughter, Reagan Elizabeth Gahagan, and step-daughter, Reilly Elyse Hatinger, all of Prague. He is also survived by his father, Maurice Gahagan of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; mother, Joan Gahagan of Orlando, Florida; sister Claire McAdams (Shawn) of Deltona, Florida; brother, Michael Gahagan of Fletcher, North Carolina; step-brother, Mark Hoffman of Barrington Hills, Illinois; aunt and uncle, Stephen and Barbara Chepolis; nephews, Shawn McAdams, Jr., and Sean Hummel, Blake Hoover, Kevin McAdams, Zachary Gahagan; and cousins, Matthew and Tyler Chepolis; mother-in-law, Mary Margaret Reilly Greene of Prague and brother-in-law, Tony Greene of Fairview, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at 1:00 PM and the Prague United Methodist Church followed by full military honors. Per Bill’s wishes, his cremated remains will be scattered at sea at a later date. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague, Oklahoma.
