Weldon R. "Shorty" Harris

Weldon R. 'Shorty' Harris, age 47, of Choctaw, OK, was born on July 9, 1963, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was the son of Murl & Wanda (Wright) Harris. He went home on Friday, July 9, 2010, in Oklahoma City, OK. Shorty married Teresa Snowden on October 11, 1986, in Warr Acres, OK. He worked as a customer service representative for an electric supply company in Oklahoma City. He received the one million mile safety award from Borden's Dairy. He was a member of the National Honor Society and the men's ministry at Bethel Christian Center. He previously held the position of a deacon, youth sponsor and a senior commander of the Royal Rangers. Shorty was a little league baseball coach and also enjoyed cooking, barbecuing, hunting and fishing. His favorite thing was to be with friends and family. Shorty was preceded in death by his grandparents. Survivors include his wife, Teresa Harris, Choctaw, OK; son, Caleb Harris, Choctaw, OK; daughter, Faith Harris, Choctaw, OK; parents, Murl & Wanda Harris, Bethany, OK; brother & sister-in-law, Wendell & Jackie Harris, MO; sister, Delona Archer, CA; nieces & nephews, Christopher, Rachel & Ashley Archer, Andrea & Ryan Pressler, Adrienne Archer, Angela Archer, Roger Apel, Terra & Jordan Rasico, Shane Harris and many other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the Weldon Harris Memorial Fund at Bancfirst. Services will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at the Bethel Christian Center, Choctaw, OK, with Dr. Dick Temple officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
