Warren Leroy Miller passed away on August 31, 2012 at 91 years of age. Warren was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana on January 29, 1921 to the late Edward S. and Hester L (Osborn) Miller. He married Ruth Laverne Mann at Howard Park Christian Church in Clarksville, Indiana on December 15, 1951. Over the past seven years, Warren and Ruth were cared for and resided in Leavenworth, Kansas with their youngest daughter, Judith, and her husband, Gregory, where Mrs. Miller now survives. Warren was predeceased by his brother, Shirley Miller, in 1931. He was the devoted father to five: Geri Miller and wife, Maril of Coolidge, Arizona, Stephen Miller and wife Kathy of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Karen Hollinsworth and husband, Bob of Mustang, Oklahoma, John Miller and wife, Marie-Therese of Salt Point, New York, Judith Beck and husband, Gregory of Leavenworth, Kansas. Warren was the loving grandfather to seventeen and great grandfather to two: William Miller, Jennifer King and husband, Austin, Stephen Miller, wife, Rebekah and great granddaughter Kayden, Brenda Miller and great grandson Jason, Kathryn Smith and husband, Drake, Stephanie Miller, Crystal Miller, John Coppock and wife, Hillary, April Coppock, Tara Jiminez and husband, Craig, Michelle Miller, Meghan Miller, John Vincent Miller, Erin Miller, Elizabeth Miller, Lisa Burris and husband, Joe, and Warren Beck Warren attended Jeffersonville High School in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He joined the United States Air Force and piloted B-17 and B-25 bombers in the European Theater during World War II. He continued to serve his country first as a Strategic Air Command B-52 pilot and then as a C-123 pilot in Vietnam. He completed his active service as a B-52 and KC-135 test pilot and chief of flight test, being stationed his last 12 years at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He retired from the USAF with 28 years of service, the rank of Major. In addition, Warren worked in the Civil Service. In 1970, Warren realized his dream of moving to farmland and raising cattle in Wellston, Oklahoma. There, he volunteered as a firefighter with the Southwest Lincoln County Fire Department. He and his wife were longtime parishioners of St. Teresa Catholic Church in Harrah, Oklahoma and where Warren was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to either St. Teresa Catholic Church, the USO, the Wounded Warrior Project or the VFW. The rosary and wake will be 6:45 PM, Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK, with Father Lucas Raj Pinapati officiating. Interment to follow at St. Teresa Catholic Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
