Virginia Catherine Shannon Thompson went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on August 10, 2024, at 1:29 am.
Virginia Catherine was in the care of Parks Brothers of Stroud/Prague, Oklahoma, and laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Gardens Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Virginia touched many lives during her 92-year stay on Earth. She was a Ward/Unit Clerk at Midwest City Hospital for many years in the 70’s and 80’s. Virginia Catherine owned her business, Town and Country Spraying Service. She assembled cars at GM in OKC. She cared for the elderly at Noval Senior Care, Supra Home Care of Oklahoma, and Angelic HealthCare, Inc. She was a home health care aide and Long Term Caregiver. She was registered with the Oklahoma State Department of Health. She was a student at Oklahoma City Community College. Virginia Catherine was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.
Virginia Catherine was preceded in death by her parents W.C. and Lois D. Shannon; husband C.W.(Bill) Thompson, brothers Robert & Carol Ray Shannon; daughters Barbara Kathlene & Patricia Ann; son C. Dewayne Thompson; nephews Ron Suenram, Bo Stahlheber, Dahl James, Rickie Paul, Billy Glen and Denny Thompson.
Virginia Catherine is survived by her daughters Dianne Thompson and Mary Petillo (Cliff); and her son James H. Thompson (Suzanne); and her sisters Genevieve Suenram (Ray), Ruby Hackett, & Lou Gallion; and her Grandchildren Dacia Chaffee (Chris), W. Jeffrey Keen (Dessie), Ryan V. Burke (Hallie), Lisa Nealey (Mike), Johnny Ferree (Stacy), Cathie Laden, Rachel Thompson, Sean Thompson, Aaron Thompson (Mata), Jeanna Thompson, Serina Isch (Chris), Brandon Miller (April), Rachel Petillo, Preston Petillo, and Twenty Nine Great-Grandchildren, Fourteen Great-Great-Grandchildren; and Nine nephews Michael Suenram, Jim Gallion, Bill & Larry Hackett, Danny & David Shannon, Bob Stahlheber (Willie), Bill Stahlheber, and Donald Thompson; and Five nieces Kim C., Cindy Addison, Tammy Shannon, Debra Sue Cooper (Gary), Judith Vanderford (Charles), and numerous other relatives.
Special thanks to Parks Brother Funeral Home, Arlington Memorial Gardens, SHCC, Mid-Del Skilled Nursing, and all medical professionals who assisted in her care. Sincere appreciation is extended to everyone who showed her kindness.

The Burial service will be held at the Arlington Memorial Gardens’ Mausoleums, 3400 N. Midwest Blvd., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73141, on September 3, 2024, at 10 am. Rick Elhinger will be officiating the service.
