OBITUARY: Velma Faye Green Velma Faye Green was born on November 10, 1938 in Stroud, Oklahoma and departed this life on September 16, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 80. Velma was born to Arlie and Ada (Brown) Teters. Velma was a lifelong resident of Stroud and a member of the First Assembly of God Church. She was also a member of the Stroud Alumni Association. Velma held a Master’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma. She retired as teacher from Stroud Public Schools and also taught at Kendrick School. She enjoyed her church family and fellowship. She played the organ at Sunday services. She enjoyed playing games like Bridge, being with family and loved to travel. Velma was married to Jim Green. Jim preceded her in death on February 14, 1968. She was also preceded in death by her father Arlie Teters. Survivors include two sons Doug and wife Shelia Green of Livingston, TX, and Curtis and wife Susie Green of Rancho Mirage, CA. Mother Ada Teters of Stroud, OK, two sisters Vera & husband Jim Bierd of Stroud, OK, Kathy and husband Dwight Riley of Bristow, OK, one brother Carl and wife Jan Teters of Prague, OK. Two grandchildren Savannah Green of Winchester, VA and Rhett Green of Norman, OK. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on September 20, 2019 at the Stroud First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Jeromye Jackson officiating with burial to follow at Stroud Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, OK. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Velma’s honor to the Stroud First Assembly of God Church.
