Sylvester Glover, long-time Chandler OK, resident was born on May 23, 1924, in Wellston, OK, and departed this life on May 22, 2014, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 89 years. Sylvester was the son of James and Ella (Long) Glover. He married Helen Ethel Lewis on December 17, 1944, in Chandler. He worked in the construction business for many years. His parents, wife, one daughter, one son, one brother, and one sister preceded Sylvester in death. Survivors include, two daughters, Lavonne McPherson of Wichita, KS, and Alesia Glover of Chandler,; two brothers, Buck Battle of Chandler, and Glenn Battle of Oklahoma City, OK; two sisters, Ada Lena Naff of Oklahoma City, and Evelyn Battle of Oklahoma City; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Douglas Community Center in Chandler, with Rev. James Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
