Ruby Mae Williams

Ruby Mae Cranford Williams, Harrah, OK, age 88, passed from this life on September 12, 2009, in McLoud, OK. Ruby was born in the small town of Albion, OK on January 26, 1921, to parents Alice Mae and James 'Jim' Marion Cranford. She was a 1939 graduate of Crooked Oak High School and it was there that she met the love of her life, Clark Earnest Williams. On December 28, 1939, Ruby and Clark traveled thru deep snow by horse and buggy to be married. Dec. 28th of 2008, they celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary as Clark sat by Ruby's bedside in the Midwest City Hospital. Ruby spent much of her married life as a hard working help mate to her husband as they toiled together farming, raising cattle, pigs and chickens as well as raising a huge garden to can and share with family and neighbors. For many years they also ran a regular route to several neighboring towns and sold eggs and vegetables to local groceries. All this was done while both of them also held down jobs at Tinker AFB and raised two very active daughters. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents. Ruby leaves behind her husband, Clark Ernest Williams of the home; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Edna and Jack Ross of Harrah, OK, Virginia and Gordon Dial of Del City, OK; 7 grandchildren, Tony and wife, Marianne Ross of Sache, TX, Loni and husband, Robert Mooty of Lewisville, TX, Penny and husband, Michael Lopez of Harrah, OK, Don Dial of Seminole, OK, Dusty and wife, Cheryl Dial of Del City, OK, David and wife, Kim Ross of Santa Fe, TX, Sandi and husband, Jeff Laughlin of Oklahoma City, OK, along with twelve great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm, Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, 2039 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, OK 73045. Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at the First Baptist Church, McLoud, OK, with Rev. Ernest Graham and Rev. Tuney Ropp officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
