Rosa Francies Branscum was born on March 1, 1912, in Alva, Texas, and departed this life on Monday, February 18, 2008, in McLoud, Oklahoma, at the age of 95. Rosa was the daughter of Jack and Azie Lee Swindell Courtney. She married Andy Branscum on July 13, 1928, in Mason, Oklahoma and they made their home in Okemah. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1956. In 1958, she moved to Oklahoma City. Rosa was a homemaker and a caretaker of many friends and relatives. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to quilt. Her parents and one son, Hendrix Branscum, also preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Hugh and Betty Branscum of Kingfisher, Mac and Jeannie Branscum of Laverne, Paul Branscum of Tecumseh; daughter, Vera Mae and Gene Calvery of McLoud; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; half-brother, James King of Bristow; and step-brother, Charles King, of Shawnee
