Robert Earl Kerns

Robert Earl Kerns was born on September 7, 1931, in Lehew, West Virginia, and departed this life on Friday, August 1, 2008, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 76. Robert was the son of Joseph Earl and Clara Beatrice Hawse Kerns. He married Dorothy May Taylor on June 2, 1951 in Hagerstown, Maryland. They made their home in Meeker for the past year. Previously, they lived in Paden for a year and in Bunker Hill, West Virginia for 20 years. Robert was a farmer. His parents and brother, Wade Kerns, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Kerns of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and George Russell of Meeker; grandson, Michael Walters and his wife Misty of Paden; great-grandchildren, Sydney Case, Cotton Walters, and Naudia Walters, all of Paden; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lillian and Robert Bragg of York, Pennsylvania, Mabel and Lewis Snyder of Winchester, Virginia. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.
